Howling Laughter At Dawn!

So, everyone's daily mission should be to try and put a smile on someones face, preferably as early as possible (who wants to go through the day in a bad mood, only to get picked up right before bedtime? Seems like a waste!)

Father Tom has an old model Ford Ranger truck, much like my 2001 Ranger, that they use around the campus here. His truck, for lack of a better word, is unusual to start and put into drive. Imagine sitting hunched slightly over the steering wheel, and you reach either through or over the steering wheel with your left hand, juggling the column shifter arm up and down and front to back, all the while turning the key to try and get it started. And just for laughs, you have to keep the emergency brake on because you're never sure if it is in Park, Drive or Reverse! Needless to say, this project of fixing his truck sits high on my priority list. So this morning, I decided to run to the Parts store to get what I think is needed to fix it (and because I had to do nearly exactly the same repair to my Ranger) so I had some previous experience. When I called Father Tom about 7:30 this morning to see about borrowing his car to run to the Parts Store, I just said "I haven't had to ask this in many years, and I kinda feel nervous again, but 'Father, can I please borrow the car'?" After about a second of realizing what I had said, he just started roiling with laughter! When he met me in the parking lot with his keys, we were both still cackling, as I told him how weirdly nervous I was asking My Father for the keys to the car!!! Its was a great way to start this beautiful day (supposed to be in the mid-60s today and bright sunshine)!

Hope everyone starts their days with a great laugh and smile; the day goes so much better!
