I can't believe I have just a little over two weeks left before heading back home. Becky has been wonderful keeping the home fires burning, as yet once again I've escaped out the back door before the serious cold and snow came in, and I left her to contend with all of that on her own. In all honesty, she probably enjoys the quiet when I'm away on these trips, when she doesn't have to listen to loud saws, banging hammers and smelly propane heaters going in the garage when I am home. But, I know she misses me all the same, as I do her, Taylor and Luna as well! I just am amazed at how quickly the time has flown by!
I've stayed very busy down here between building and maintenance projects, am pushing hard into the nights writing here in the blog and elsewhere, and generally crashing around 9 pm! Since I am winding down the project list here, the remaining time I'll be visiting other wood artist in the area, as well as trekking up into the mountains to explore other artist and craftspeople in a very concentrated area near Santa Fe. One of the men on the Volunteer crew here at Holy Cross has some property in Santa Fe, so hoping I can do a little "carpentry swapping" with him for a place to stay to keep my overhead travel cost down!

Dee, a multi-talented lady who heads up the clothing drives for the Holy Cross outreach programs for those less fortunate, was very happy to get two entire new rooms, which we installed multiple hanging bars for both adult and children's clothing, so that she can better organize the donations by size and gender, for those families and individuals. This saves the families time, instead of trying to dig through stacks and bags of clothing and shoes for each member of the family. And, she can now rotate clothing by seasonal needs, instead of having winter coats and gloves mixed up with summer dresses and shorts!
I had to post a few more photos of the incredibly bright nighttime sky! The full moon a few nights ago rising over the Organ Mountain range is just spectacular! It is just so clear out here in the high desert that you can see nearly as well at night as you can during the daylight! I haven't retouched or altered these night time photos in any way!
